Why Rainger & Co?
Fees for design practices are tight. Clients want the world.
Competition is fierce. We want to help.
Architects, interior designers and garden designers face greater challenges than ever just now. It is critical for them to win pitches and deliver projects flawlessly. We work closely with great design practices to help transform their businesses — and enjoy acclaim for their success.
We are proud of our long relationships with leading design practices, and with their ecosystem of suppliers and consultants.
How Do You Work With Clients?
At the very start, we seek to understand what will make the biggest difference to your success and satisfaction. Some practices want to address their fees and client contracts. Others want to increase client acquisition or finesse a critical client pitch. Others again want to grow the market abroad for their services or product range. Take your pick of any business-critical area, and be assured that we know what makes practices successful.
What can Rainger & Co. do for me?
If you and your colleagues are doing well, you deserve huge congratulations. And if you are working in a growing market, are excited by your trajectory as a practice and how it is running, then there is no reason at all to change. Keep doing what you are doing and enjoy it. But you may want to grow faster. Or develop new markets. Or set the direction of your practice for the longer term. We will act as your critical friend, whatever your most pressing interests.
What difference can you make to us?
Our starting point is to discuss your needs and desires with empathy, because we know how hard designers work for success. We are extremely confident of being able to ‘move the dial’ for practices. But if we don’t believe we can add value for you, we will say so at the outset.
Why do you specialise in advising design practices?
We come from creative backgrounds ourselves. So working with talented creatives is in our nature and our greatest joy. Helping them achieving change and success is profoundly satisfying, too. And, given that practices are businesses as well as design powerhouses, we understand the entrepreneurial journey having ourselves launched, grown, run and sold businesses.
How can we justify the cost of engaging Rainger & Co?
We are confident that your return on investing in our advice will be many times its cost. Our insights into optimising your client pitches and fee structures alone are sure to pay back almost immediately. Some initiatives take longer to impact the bottom line. For example, enhancing your communication strategy or building professional networks take a while, but they are fundamental to a strong business.
How Do We Start?
We hold an initial consultation with you at no cost to understand your priorities and be sure we can help you achieve your goals. Next, we like to meet at your practice. We can meet you one-to-one or work potentially with your whole practice. And we flex our engagement with you to suit your workload.
How do you charge?
We charge for our time, just like designers. For our rates, please email: hello@rainger.co.uk Our fees are benchmarked against other leading service-providers in the sector. Clients who wish to engage Rainger & Co on a longterm retainer basis are invited to discuss terms.
What kind of practices does Rainger & Co. like to work with?
We like to work with practices of almost any size and experience. We are excited to be working with small, young and ambitious practices. We also love working with big, famous practices who run projects across continents. All these practices have three qualities in common: exceptional creativity, driving desire to become stronger and openness to change.
Why do you believe you can help practices?
Our record and our experience speak for themselves. We are seasoned professionals: between us, we have been working for decades with a great number of exceptionally talented practices.
We have coached them on pitches, curated their portfolios for publication in magazines and online, resolved personnel issues, and introduced many of them to their biggest clients and projects, too.
We have engaged numerous design practices to work on our own homes, too. So we know exactly what it feels like to be a client and work with a practice on an extensive project, through all their ups and downs.
